Shaun Anderson Osteopath
Shaun Anderson BSc. (Hons.) Ost. Med., D.O., completed a four year full time degree course in Osteopathic Medicine, at the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy (now renamed the British College of Osteopathic Medicine). He qualified in 1999 and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). Shaun is also a member of the British Osteopathic Association (BOA) and the Osteopathic Sports Care Association (OSCA).

He has undertaken Post-graduate training in western medical acupuncture (also known as dry-needling) as part of regular ongoing continual professional development.


Shaun Anderson Osteopath
Shaun has significant experience in treating sport-related injuries and treated players at 2009 Championship winning Barrow Rugby League Football Club (BRLFC) during the 2006-2009 seasons. He has also treated conditions which have resulted from other sports, both amateur and professional, such as; football, squash, motocross, triathlon, road and mountain cyclists, runners, and swimmers.

Shaun has worked in South Cumbria since qualifying in 1999 and established his own practice on Walney in 2000 which moved to Murrays Pharmacy in November 2002 until September 2011, and from September 2011 until May 2012 he was at Waterside House. He has now moved to the Phoenix Business Centre on Phoenix Road, Barrow . He also had a practice in Ulverston from 2000 to 2007 but is now in Barrow full-time.


Shaun Anderson Osteopath
Shaun was born in Barrow and after leaving school worked in engineering until 1995 when he relocated to London to train as an Osteopath. He became interested in Osteopathy after being successfully treated by an osteopath for a back-injury. This led to an interest in the human body and its mechanisms of injury and recovery.

Shaun regularly rides mountain bikes to maintain fitness. He has played amateur rugby league and has first hand experience of injuries sustained through the sport. He has many years experience in karate, achieving the level of 2nd Dan in Wado Ryu. Additionally he has taught and trained in many different styles of martial arts. He has also enjoyed playing squash.
